The Plant
BFI Plant
The BFI Plant consists of an Ammonia Plant, Urea Synthesis and Granulation Plants, Offsite & Utilities Plant and a dedicated export jetty, the BFI Terminal (BFIT).
The BFI Plant is primarily focused on the production and export of Granular Urea. With a main feedstock of natural gas and raw water both sourced domestically, the BFI Plant has a production nameplate capacity of 2,200 metric tonnes per day of ammonia which is fully converted to produce 3,900 metric tonnes per day of granular urea.

Incorporation of BFI
May 2018
Construction began by EPC Contractor.
December 2021
First production of Ammonia as feedstock.
2022
First production of Urea, as well as first shipments from BFI Terminal and Muara Port and partial takeover from EPC Contractor.
2023

Started Operational Excellence journey, Code of Conduct, Safety Walkabouts, CARe Cards and ISPS Awareness. 1 million tonnes of Urea are produced and sold.
2024
Final takeover of plant, moving towards lean organisation. Achieved one year without Loss Time Incident and 2 million safe working hours. Also completed ISO 45001 Certification.

Awarded IFA Industry Stewardship Champion (ISC).
